À propos du
Matrix Audio NA-1 Headphone Amplifier & Preamplifier.

The Matrix Audio NA-1 is a high-performance desktop headphone amplifier and preamplifier built for serious listening. Designed as part of the Matrix Audio N Series, it uses a fully discrete pure Class A circuit with a fully balanced architecture and four independent amplification units. This topology helps suppress common-mode interference, lower distortion, and deliver a transparent, dynamic, full-bodied presentation with strong control over demanding headphones.

The NA-1 uses a vertically layered internal layout, separating the preamp circuitry and linear power supply from the headphone amplification stage. This approach reduces interference and improves thermal efficiency for greater stability during extended listening sessions. Independent dual-gain settings are available for both the headphone and preamp outputs, allowing better matching with high-impedance headphones, power amplifiers, and active speakers.

Connectivity is equally flexible. The NA-1 offers one balanced XLR input and two single-ended RCA inputs, plus 6.35 mm, 4.4 mm, and 4-pin XLR headphone outputs. It also includes both XLR and RCA pre-outs, making it suitable as the control center of a premium desktop system. Volume is handled by a motor-driven quad-unit ALPS Type 27 potentiometer, combining traditional analog feel with remote-control convenience.

Power delivery is a major part of the design. The NA-1 uses an 80W potted toroidal transformer with magnetic shielding and a capacitor array up to 39,000 µF, supported by independent power supply sections for the preamp and power amplification circuits. Matrix Audio also fits the unit with its MA-DAMPER PRO isolation system to help reduce mechanical vibration.
