About the
Audio Note CD3.1x/II.
The CD 3.1x/II is the Level 2 single-chassis CD player — the first integrated player in the range built on the Analogue Devices AD1865 18-bit converter, the same chip Audio Note uses in its costlier stand-alone DACs. The in-house modified Philips mechanism reads Red Book only; the analogue output stage runs two ECC88 double triodes with AN copper-foil capacitors and tantalum resistors.
Audio Note CD3.1x/II across 4 variants.
Four CD players combining transport + DAC in one chassis. Each player sits at the same tier as the DAC inside it — the CD 2.1x/II contains a DAC 2.1x equivalent stage, the CD 3.1x/II contains a DAC 3.1x equivalent stage, and so on through the tier ladder. Same NOS R2R conversion, same valve output topology, same tier-matched output transformer.
